PERFORMANCE GRADE SELECTION
At Steele, we offer Elbit and L3Harris image intensifier tubes. Each tube model/grade has its own unique performance characteristics and pricing.
SNR, or Signal to Noise Ratio, is the most crucial spec in our team’s opinion. The higher the value, the less scintillation (looks like TV static) that is present in low light conditions.
Therefore, we have categorized tubes by their respective SNR values, which means we have a tube to meet various performance needs and budgets.
Baseline Performance: These tubes meet the minimum requirements and are a great value for those who don’t see the need to pay for a higher performing tube.
Standard Performance: Tubes within this grade are fit for any use, whether that’s training on the weekends, duty use, or even astronomy. The tubes are held to a higher standard to ensure great low light performance when it matters most.
High Performance: Hand picked by our team, these tubes are for those that demand the most from their gear and want the ultimate performance. Whether you’re using it for a hobby or in a professional capacity, if you enjoy the finer things in life, this is the grade for you.
